Oribe: The Review

It is thanks to the lovely ladies at SpaceNK that I discovered the luxe brand that is Oribe.

Developed with the most high end customers in mind, Oribe Hair Care is a brand that compromises on nothing. Brand creators – renowned hairstylist Oribe Canales & beauty industry veterans Daniel Kaner & Tev Finger – brought together advanced technology & natural actives, before testing their formulas exhaustively on set, backstage & in the salon, to ensure a truly world-class collection.

From sleek, display-worthy packaging to the brand’s sensual signature scent – crafted by a centuries – old French fragrance house – every facet of each Oribe product has been painstakingly designed for ultimate indulgence &the formulas within speak for themselves, giving shiny, pliable tresses after the first wash.

This is a luxury brand & the price does reflect that but if you are committed to improving your hair’s health & lustre you will be investing wisely with this brand!

Within an order from Space NK was a sample of Oribe’s Signature Shampoo & Conditioner & one thing was for sure – I absolutely fell in LOVE.

First of all the smell is absolutely divine – a real unique, gorgeous scent that is a perfume in it’s own right! I am a huge lover of perfumes & fragrance – those that know me will testify that I am a fragrance hoarder! So you could say the initial attraction was the scent of the Oribe Signature Shampoo that intrigued me.

My first purchase was the Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil.

Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil, £45, Net-a-Porter

I purchased this from Net-a-Porter for £45. This product is lightweight & luxurious & improves your hair condition and manageability with strengthening Argan extract & a fragrant blend of Jasmine, Edelweiss Flower, Lychee, Sandalwood, Cassis & Bergamot. I love that this is a multi-benefit product & can be used on damp hair as a restorative leave-in conditioner & then applied once hair is dry & styled for extra polish & smooth ends.

I tend to apply this onto the ends of my hair prior to drying, & then once dried run through lightly from mid to end with my fingers.

Over-all my favourite factors of this product are that it doesn’t leave your hair greasy or heavy with oil which you do have to be careful with with alot of Hair Oil products. It is light, nourishing & luxurious – everything you could want & need from a moisture oil product.

I then purchased the Maximista Thickening Spray, again from Net-a-Porter for £25.

Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray, £25, Net-a-Porter

I am always after a product to add volume & thickness to my tresses as my hair isn’t the thickest & lacks massively in volume at the roots.

This Thickening Spray is designed to deliver exaggerated thickness & provide protection from heat-styling tools. Again, the scent is beautiful & adds to the luxury of the product. The brand’s signature Watermelon, Lychee and Elderweiss Flower formula combats oxidative stress & protects against environmental aggressors too.

The mist works well as a setting lotion with a light-medium hold. I tend to spray this at the roots of wet hair before blow-drying to the highest volume! It is almost like a liquid mousse in texture once dried & does add a nice fixture to styled hair – perfect for hair lacking in lustre, texture & volume!

I prefer this product over a mousse as it isn’t as sticky or as harsh but still adds plenty of texture & fixture – a winner for sure!

My next purchase was the Gold Lust Dry Shampoo.

I purchased this from Space.NK for £36

Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo, £36, Space.NK

Now this has to be my favourite Oribe product so far.

Unlike other dry shampoos it does not leave a chalky texture or powdery, stubborn whiteness – the powders within the product are translucent which means application is quick & effective.

The Dry Shampoo absorbs product buildup, oil & impurities while soothing scalp & restoring strength & softness. Fragrance-retention technology means their signature scent stays with you all day – a big bonus when Oribe smells as divine as it does!

I love that despite absorbing impurities & oils, this product is weightless & leaves your hair feeling fresh & luxurious. Also available in a travel size – perfect for your handbag. A total MUST-HAVE product!

To compliment the Dry Shampoo I was intrigued by the Dry Conditioner – a product I have not heard of before!

Oribe Soft Dry Conditioner, £36, Space.NK

The Soft Dry Conditioner Spray works to rehydrate hair & add a light shine without adding weight.

Again, with the beautiful Oribe scent this product has the whole package you would expect from a luxury brand. One key factor I love is that hair is instantly detangled & is protected against breakage from brushing.

It leaves your locks feeling silky soft, without added weight & oil. You could say this works as a lighter option to the Gold Lust Oil. Again, available in travel size for your handbag!

So I can safely say that discovering Oribe has been a real treasure finder & I fully recommend these products. Again, the price point does mean that this is a luxury, high-end product but this is reflected in the product results! Everything from the scent to the packaging oozes luxury & lustre. Each product is beautifully boxed & features metallic detailing.

I’m a huge fan & will be slowly slowly building my Oribe Collection to include more of it’s stunning, effective products.

With Love,

Hayley x
